MICROIP has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology (HUFLIT) in Vietnam, marking a significant collaboration in the fields of IC design and artificial intelligence (AI). This partnership represents the first industry-academia collaboration between the Vietnamese education sector and a Taiwanese semiconductor company, laying a strong foundation for both parties in high-tech education and technological innovation.
The MOU was signed by MICROIP’s Chairman, Dr. James Yang, and HUFLIT’s President, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan. As part of the agreement, HUFLIT will purchase over $1 million worth of IC design intellectual property and semiconductor-related software and hardware from MICROIP. This includes FPGA development boards from the Trion and Titanium series, Memory Controllers IP, SDRAM, RISC-V SoC IP, and more. These resources will be used in HUFLIT’s semiconductor courses, helping to train Vietnam’s next generation of globally competitive semiconductor professionals.
Through this partnership, MICROIP will also work with HUFLIT to drive growth in key areas like IC design, talent development, software development, and certification programs in the semiconductor and AI sectors. Additionally, MICROIP will support the university in establishing research and development centers, further boosting HUFLIT’s capabilities in tech innovation and specialized education. This collaboration is expected to inject fresh energy into Vietnam’s rapidly growing high-tech industry, helping the country secure a stronger presence in the global semiconductor and AI markets.
Dr. James Yang, Chairman of MICROIP, expressed his excitement about the collaboration, saying, “We’re honored to work closely with HUFLIT. This partnership is not only a major step forward in fostering talent and driving innovation in the global semiconductor and AI industries but also a strategic move as we expand our presence in international markets.”
This partnership marks a milestone in the collaboration between Vietnamese universities and Taiwanese semiconductor companies, with plans to expand the model to more universities across Vietnam, further enhancing the country’s competitiveness in the semiconductor and AI sectors.
