News Release
2026-06-09

MICROIP Inc. ( TPEx: 7796), a company specializing in AI software design services and ASIC design services, officially announced its entry into "PIER F" in Kaohsiung, establishing a nearly 300-ping southern R&D center. Witnessed by Kaohsiung City Mayor Chen Chi-mai, MICROIP Chairman Dr. James Yang and Kaohsiung City Economic Development Bureau Director-General Liao Tai-hsiang jointly signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation. In the future, centered on the self-developed AI visual platform "AIVO" (AI Vision Operation) and the new generation AI vehicle safety protection system, and combining the needs of Kaohsiung port logistics, smart transportation, and manufacturing, MICROIP will create a base for AI application and technology verification in the Great South. The company also responds to the Kaohsiung City Government's promotion of the "Asia New Bay Area 2.0 - Smart Technology Innovation Park" and the "Smart Kaohsiung Lighthouse Project" to jointly accelerate AI technology deployment and industry upgrading.

Witnessed by Kaohsiung City Mayor Chen Chi-mai, MICROIP and the Kaohsiung City Government signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for cooperation to introduce the AI vehicle safety system and AIVO visual computing platform into smart application fields across the Great South.

This establishment in Kaohsiung is also a significant milestone for MICROIP to further expand its layout in AI vehicles and Edge AI following its successful acquisition of an order from an international Tier 1 automaker in India during COMPUTEX 2026. As AI technology gradually moves from the cloud to practical field applications, MICROIP hopes to leverage Kaohsiung's complete port logistics, manufacturing clusters, and transportation fields to accelerate the field verification of AI solutions and drive the intelligent upgrading of industries in southern Taiwan.

Dr. James Yang, Chairman of MICROIP, stated that the company will leverage its strengths in AI software-hardware integration upon entering Kaohsiung's PIER F base, fueling the development of smart transportation and urban safety governance.

Southern R&D Center Lands in Kaohsiung, Creating an AI Application Verification Base

Regarding this strategic layout deeply cultivating the Great South, MICROIP Chairman Dr. James Yang stated, "MICROIP possesses profound expertise in AI software design and ASIC design services, making it one of the few enterprises in the semiconductor industry capable of perfectly achieving 'software-hardware integration.' We firmly believe that 'software driving hardware' is the key advantage for future technological development. Choosing Kaohsiung to establish the southern R&D center and application verification field demonstrates our high confidence in the prospects of Kaohsiung's technology industry development. In the future, the dual engines introduced into the PIER F base will deliver stable operation under low power consumption and low network environments, assisting Kaohsiung in promoting applications such as smart MRT, port logistics fleet safety protection, drone inspection, and concert crowd management, further strengthening Kaohsiung's urban resilience and transportation network safety governance."

Kaohsiung City Mayor Chen Chi-mai highly affirmed MICROIP's entry: "The port warehouses carry the important historical memory of Kaohsiung moving from the agricultural era to the industrial era. In the past, PIER F was an important distribution center for the export of agricultural products such as bananas, and today it has successfully transformed into a smart technology innovation base. I am grateful that MICROIP is optimistic about the potential of Kaohsiung's AI and semiconductor industry development, bringing top-notch software-hardware integration technology and Edge AI core applications to Kaohsiung. I look forward to MICROIP's joining, which can not only provide a solid safety protection net for Kaohsiung's massive commercial transportation fleets and concert economy but also drive the industrial AI transformation of over 8,300 local manufacturing companies, becoming an important partner for Kaohsiung in promoting the upward extension of the AI industry chain."

Kaohsiung City Economic Development Bureau Director-General Liao Tai-hsiang also stated: "Kaohsiung has the largest international commercial port in Taiwan and a complete manufacturing industry cluster, making it the best field for AI technology field verification. MICROIP's entry into PIER F brings its AI software platform, vehicle AI system, and ASIC design capabilities into Kaohsiung, which will not only help upgrade industries such as smart manufacturing, smart logistics, and smart transportation but also further connect the semiconductor and AI industry chains in southern Taiwan. The city government is pleased to see more innovative enterprises with software-hardware integration strength like MICROIP settling in Kaohsiung to jointly promote AI technology from proof of concept to scaled applications, building the Great South into an important base for Taiwan's AI industry development."

MICROIP accelerates Kaohsiung's smart transportation upgrade with its AI vehicle safety protection system, strengthening safety management for port logistics fleets and heavy transportation vehicles.

AI Vehicle System Penetrates Port Logistics, Seizing Smart Transportation Opportunities

MICROIP enters PIER F, facing Kaohsiung's massive industrial base as Taiwan's largest international commercial port and having over 8,300 factories. It plans to use its proprietary Edge AI technology, which has been deployed globally, as a key engine to drive local upgrading. In terms of smart transportation and logistics upgrading, the 'New Generation AI Vehicle Safety Protection System,' which recently received an order from an international automaker in India, will become a key puzzle piece for transportation protection in the Great South. Aiming at the Kaohsiung port area, which carries a massive daily flow of container logistics and commercial transportation vehicles, MICROIP's Driver Monitoring System and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (DMS + ADAS) and AI E-Mirror can precisely detect the fatigue status, distracted behavior, and visual blind spots of drivers of various commercial vehicles. In the future, this system can be widely introduced into port logistics fleets and heavy transportation equipment in industrial areas in Kaohsiung, reducing the accident rate of large vehicles from the source and building a safer and more resilient smart transportation network for the Great South of Taiwan.

AIVO Platform Targets Smart Manufacturing and Field Management Needs

In terms of system-level applications of Edge AI, MICROIP demonstrated the AI visual platform "AIVO" to the city government team, featuring stable operation under 'low network, low power consumption' environments. This solution is highly flexible and can cross-platform perfectly with mainstream chip architectures (NVIDIA Jetson, Intel Core Ultra, and Axelera AI Metis), providing the most cost-effective software-hardware integration solution. In 'mass transit safety protection' and 'drone applications,' AIVO can simultaneously detect abnormal behavior and dangerous items, with plans to introduce it to Kaohsiung MRT, railways, and airports in the future; and empower drones with AI autonomous flight control and 3D map modeling capabilities to execute highly difficult automated inspections in the port area.

At the same time, targeting the transformation of heavy industry and manufacturing, the AIVO platform is expected to reduce the monitoring manpower burden in control rooms by over 60% for local factories, improve the efficiency of visual defect inspection by 30% to 50%, and reduce the industrial safety missed reporting rate by 90%. This move will not only comprehensively drive the 'AI transformation' of local industries but is also expected to inject significant long-term revenue momentum for MICROIP. In terms of safety protection for the 'concert economy,' the system can also utilize crowd dynamic recognition at the level of tens of thousands of people per second to transform potential pushing conflicts into automatic alerts within 3 seconds, helping to shorten the golden response time by 80%.
